Titans Visit East Coast

Members of the St. John's Jesuit lacrosse team spent the past week touring universities along the East Coast for five days and played in a summer tournament in Baltimore. As the East Coast is one of the lacrosse hotbeds in the country, the tournament featured teams from up and down the coast, including New England, Baltimore and Atlanta. The Titans were ultra competitive and really benefited from seeing the speed of the game out east.

In addition to the tournament, the lacrosse coaches capitalized on the opportunity to take the team to visit seven college campuses. The chosen schools showed a diversity in size, location, type of school, urban/rural and athletic competition level. The group was able to visit with admissions staff, coaches and other representatives to give the students a better idea of the multitude of options available. Overall, they visited Pitt, Gettysburg College, Loyola University (MD), Johns Hopkins, University of Virginia, James Madison and West Virginia University.

The most fun part of the trip may have been getting a chance to eat seafood at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore and explore downtown. Many players tried their first raw oyster or clam, and most enjoyed fresh seafood. Overall, the group had a great time in each of the cities and had a wonderful chance to spend time together getting to know each other better.
