Titans finish third at Hall of Fame Christmas Tournament

The SJJ JV hockey team participated in the Hall of Fame Christmas Tournament at Tam-O-Shanter over the weekend. On Friday, the Titans faced Findlay and won 5-2. Spencer Hood tallied two goals, and Coltin Winchester, Kyle Lippens and Andrew Twigg (1st SJJ goal) added one each. Adam Thomas got the win in the net.

Saturday morning, the Titans fell to Northwestern, 3-2. In the second game of the day, SJJ faced St. Francis and fell 3-1 in a hard fought game.

On Sunday morning, SJJ faced Northwestern for the second time, in the consolation game. With six minutes remaining in the game, Ahmed Hussein scored to tie it up, 2-2. With :16 seconds left in the game, Blaze Whitton scored the game winning goal with an assist from Twigg. Hood also scored in the game. Goalie JD Keller stopped 47 of the 49 shots he faced.

The 3-2 win gave the Titans a third place finish in the tournament.
