Titans place seventh at Gipe Relays

The SJJ swimming and diving team placed seventh at the Gipe Relays held at Port Clinton High School on Saturday, February 4. The 300 IM relay team of Patrick Gorman, Joel Perino and Nathan Smith placed third. Placing second overall was the 200 medley relay of Andrew Titgemeyer, Alec Pelok, Jonah Kale and Smith.

Also on Saturday, the JV team competed at the JV State Championship in Canton where the Titans swam personal bests in their events. Jalil Mitchell dominated his events, dropping two seconds in the 50 freestyle and five seconds in the 100 free. Alexander Peseckis dropped one second in the 50 free and placed 11th in the 100 backstroke. Jack Ryan placed 13th in the 100 breaststroke and Matthew Morcos had a great meet swimming personal bests in the 50 and 100 freestyle.

The Titans will now compete at Sectionals on Saturday, February 11 at Napoleon High School.
