Titans record four TRAC wins

The SJJ baseball team went 4-0 on the week and avenged two previous losses to St. Francis and Clay in the process. First, the Titans defeated the Knights 3-2 on Monday, after coming back from a 2-0 deficit. Nate Thomas scored from second on an infield single by Nick Walters. Jared Telecky finished with two hits and one RBI. McCoy Butler went the distance, giving up three hits, to improve his overall record to 5-1.

On Wednesday, the Titans broke open a close game against Clay by scoring six runs in the sixth inning. SJJ went on to win 7-1. Keyaunte Jones had three hits and scored two runs. Jared Telecky and Zach Businger had two hits each, while Tyler Perino had a big pinch-hit single and two RBI's. Caleb Biedenharn picked up the win on the mound, going seven innings and giving up four hits while striking out four.

SJJ then swept a double header from Lima Senior on Saturday, winning 9-1 and 11-1. In the first game, Joey Sabol picked up the win while giving up just one hit and striking out four. Michael Fleck and Tyler Perino finished with two hits each. In game two, Tommy Hurley gave up one run in six innings to get the W. Michael Fleck had three hits, while Joey Sabol, Jared Telecky and Blake Williams had two hits each.

Next, the Titans will travel to Whitmer on Wednesday, May 24.
