Titan Golf opens season with win at Knight Invitational

The St. John's Jesuit varsity golf season opened up with a first place finish at the Knight Invitational on Friday, August 4. The Titans finished with a team score of 311 at Heather Downs Country Club. Junior Andrew Hoppenjans led the Titans with a 74, earning him a spot on the tournament team (6th overall). Also scoring for the Titans were Jack Spengler and Patrick Yost with 78, and Justin Tyo and Carson Sager with 81. Keith Nelson provided a strong sixth score of 82.

On Saturday, the Titans competed at the Sycamore Invitational at Blue Ash Golf Course. A team score of 328 was set by Andrew Hoppenjans, Jack Spengler and Keith Nelson (all with 81) and Patrick Yost with 85. Spencer Hood provided a fifth score of 94.

Senior Brodie Kajfasz is currently in Mississippi for the Big I Tournament, competing against some of the best competition in the country. His status can be tracked at www.bigigolf.com. Good luck, Brodie! 

Next up, the Titans will compete in the Irish Invitational on Monday, August 7 at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
