Titans name Craig Meinzer new Head Baseball Coach

St. John's Jesuit Director of Athletics, Robert Ronai, has named Craig Meinzer the new Head Baseball Coach. Meinzer brings over 20 years of coaching experience with him to SJJ. Most recently, he was the Fall Assistant Coach at Lourdes University. Meinzer's return to SJJ is also a homecoming of sorts, as he was a Varsity Assistant Coach with the Titans from 1999-2004.

In 2016, Meinzer was the Assistant Head Coach at Central Catholic High School, and prior to that he served as the Head Coach and Athletic Director at Cardinal Stritch High School. While at Cardinal Stritch from 2012-16, Meinzer led the Cardinals to two Toledo Area Athletic Conference championships and advanced to one district final.

Before taking over at Cardinal Stritch, he was also the Head Coach at Bowsher High School from 2005-2007. While leading the Rebels, his teams posted a competitive overall record of 37-38.

"Craig is one of the most highly respected baseball coaches in Northwest Ohio. SJJ is very fortunate to have him as our next Head Baseball Coach," said Ronai adding, "No pun intended, I feel we have hit a home run in the hiring of Craig Meinzer."

Meinzer currently holds an OIAAA Registered Athletic Administrator Certification. For eight years, he also coached the Toledo Legion baseball team and was a former football (10 years) and basketball (18 years) official in both Ohio and Michigan.

As a 1977 graduate of Whitmer High School, Meinzer is presently employed at Dynamic Dies in Holland.
