Titans race at Frogtown Regatta

The St. John's Jesuit crew team kicked off the fall season on Saturday at the Frogtown Regatta. The Titans home course on the Maumee River provided great racing and the Titans came away with several impressive finishes. SJJ took home the bronze medal in the fastest event of the day, the Mens Open 8. The Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8 and Lightweight 4 also had top five finishes. The Novice rowers also kicked off the season well with the Novice 4 placing sixth.

In honor and memory of Luke Despoth, the 3rd Varsity 8 rowed with an open 4 seat, seven rowers total. Racing with tremendous passion for their friend and teammate, the 3rd Varsity 8 brought home a bronze medal. During the medal ceremony, Luke's medal was presented to his parents in a very special moment for the team.

Next, the Titans will travel to Columbus for the Hoover Regatta on Saturday, September 30.
