Titans Off to 2-0 StartApril 9, 2014
Last Tuesday, the St. John's Jesuit Titans began the season with a 10-0 win over Bowsher. Senior Nolan Silberhorn pitched four innings of shutout baseball for the win. He allowed just one hit and struck out seven. Fellow senior Jacek Czerwinski pitched one inning, striking out two, to complete the shutout. Junior T.J. Lake had three hits and scored three runs. Senior Mike Barrett and sophomore Sam McClurg had three RBI's each.
The Titans then notched a 10-6 win over Start, pre-season selection to win the City League. SJJ pounded out 12 hits, led by senior Ethan Kirkman who went 4-4 with a double. Barrett continued his early season success with three hits, including two doubles. Junior John Friesner went 2-2 with two RBI's. Junior Brock Conner picked up the win in relief of Collin Korte. Junior Chandler Dippman pitched three innings of one hit ball, while striking out four.
The Titans will travel to Clay on Wednesday, April 9 at 5:00 p.m.
