Titan Update

The St. John's Jesuit Titans kicked off the 2014 season on Tuesday, August 19 at Anthony Wayne. The Titans got off to a fast start with Jordan Miller scoring six minutes into the game, putting the Titans up 1-0. The Generals then came back and tied it up at the 23 minute mark. Eight minutes into the second half, Brady Ryan scored the game winning goal as the game ended early due to inclement weather.

With St. John's hosting the Jesuit Cup, the JV Titans were ready to put on a good show for the home crowd. The Titan began the Jesuit Cup facing off against Walsh Jesuit and Ryan scored five minutes into the game. Graham Peckham followed up with a goal with seven minutes remaining in the first half. Walsh Jesuit came out of halftime strong, putting the Titans under pressure and were able to score off a penalty kick. St. John's responded with a goal by Frank Almester and the Titans went on to win 3-1.

In the Jesuit Cup championship game on Sunday, the Titans faced St. Ignatius. The first half was evenly matched with both teams creating chances however the score was 0-0 at halftime. The second half was controlled by St. Ignatius as they went on to score two goals. The Titans fell by a final score of 2-0.

SJJ will travel to Sylvania Southview on Thursday, August 28.
