Coach Todd Black is entering his 15th season as the St. John's Jesuit Head Cross Country Coach. In 2014, Coach Black led the Titans to a TRAC Championship and 14th overall in the state. In 2015, he led the Titans to another TRAC Championship and District title. Last year, the Titans qualified for the Regional meet under Coach Black.

During the past 13 seasons, SJJ has earned eight league championships, made seven trips to the OHSAA state championship meet and finished runner-up at the state meet in 2006.

Numerous Titan runners have won league championships, earned all-league and All-Ohio distinctions and 10 have gone on to run at the collegiate level. There are very few programs in Ohio which have produced as many runners who pursued running at the college level.

Coach Black's running career was distinguished with numerous All-MAC honors in cross country and track. He was the MAC 1500 meter track champion. On a national level, he was a track All-American in 1993 and a 1996 Olympic trails finalist in the 800 meter and clocked in at 1:46.00. In 2004, Black was inducted into the Bowling Green State University Athletic Hall of Fame, and in 2014, he was inducted into the Hardin County Athletic Hall of Fame.

As a 1993 graduate of Bowling Green State University in Psychology and Sociology and 2013 earned his Master's degree in School Counseling, he serves as the chair of the Counseling Department at SJJ and stresses sportsmanship, academics and team unity. SJJ runners regularly earn all-academic honors and represents SJJ well in and out of the classroom.
