The St. John's Jesuit wrestling team spent the weekend competing at two different tournaments, the 53rd Annual Woodmore A Classic and the Perrysburg Invitational Tournament.
In the Woodmore A Classic, 12 Titans competed against wrestlers from 28 schools, and finished ninth as a team.
Kai Cogswell led the Titans placing third, finishing 6-1. Also placing in the top six were
Kevin Orlowski Jr. (4th place),
Carson Stearns (5th place),
Ethan Grant (5th place), and
Gavin DeGroff (6th place). Also wrestling well were
Blake Wilson (2-3),
Boston Johnson (4-4),
Caison Shiekh (2-3),
Damon Murdock (2-5),
Jackson Marzec (4-4),
Levi Hurlbert (2-5), and
Martin Kummer (4-3).
SJJ then sent four Titans to the Perrysburg Invitational Tournament to compete against 53 teams from Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
Max Hurlbert went 2-2,
Riley White went 0-2 in two very competitive matches, and
Salar Hashemian went 1-2. Senior
Max Beck finished 4-2, placing fifth overall. Beck wrapped up his fourth and final PIT as SJJ's first 4-time tournament placer!
Next, the Titans will compete in the 64th annual Catholic Invitational Tournament on Saturday, January 17.
