St. John's Jesuit

Coach Derek Helmke has been coaching high school hockey in the Toledo area since 2004. A former varsity head coach of both Anthony Wayne and Ottawa Hills, he has also participated in multiple USA hockey national select camps as a Team Leader.

As a player, Coach Helmke lettered all four years at Sylvania Northview. After high school he was drafted by the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks where he was named assistant captain in his second season with the club.

Coach Helmke is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and currently works in sales for Keurig Dr. Pepper.
