St. John's Jesuit

Schoen

Mike Schoen '05

Head Coach Mike Schoen '05 is set to enter his sixth year leading the St. John's Jesuit Titan basketball program. Over five seasons, the Titans have compiled a record of 81-42.

Under Coach Schoen's watch, the Titans have won three District Championships and one Regional Championship, with the most recent District Championship in 2023-24.

The 2022-23 team won the Regional Championship with a 50-38 win over Garfield Heights before falling in the State Semifinals.

In 2020-21, a season unlike any other, the team rallied together, going 6-1 in TRAC play and earning a share of the TRAC Championship. After rolling to a District Final title, the Titans postseason run was unexpectedly cut short due to a Covid exposure from a previous opponent.

In Coach Schoen's first year at the helm, the Titans finished as District Runners-Up.

The 2005 graduate played under legendary SJJ coach, Ed Heintschel, and was a member of the 2004 State Runner-Up team. After taking over for Heintschel, Schoen became only the fourth basketball coach to lead the Titans.

After graduating from the University of Dayton in 2009, Schoen '05 returned to his alma mater as the Assistant Director of Admissions and JV assistant basketball coach. While at the University of Dayton, he was a member of the Men's Basketball staff, serving as a student assistant.

From 2010-15, Schoen '05 compiled a 90-13 overall record with four TRAC Championships as the head freshman coach. He then joined the varsity staff in 2015 as the assistant coach.

Coach Schoen '05 is also the Assistant Director of Athletics at SJJ.
