The 2025 season will mark Head Coach Steve Spenthoff's 23rd year at the helm of the St. John's Jesuit Track & Field team. Coach Spenthoff '95 and the Titans won the DI State Championship in 2023, marking the first track & field championship in school history! The 4x400 meter relay team of Caleb Kelly, Caleb Root, Tre Green, and Joseph Taylor led the way, placing first overall.
In 2021, the Titans finished second in the TRAC and went on to win the District Championship.
Coach Spenthoff '95 led the Titans to the TRAC Championship and District Championship in both 2015 and 2016. Prior to 2021, he also previously led the team to District Championships in 2007, 2008, and 2009 and two Regional Championships in 2007 and 2008. While in the City League, Coach Spenthoff and the Titans won the championship four times: 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011.
Coach Spenthoff is a 1999 graduate of John Carroll University where he was a member of the Track & Field team. He teaches history at SJJ and serves as the chair of the Social Studies Department. He is married to his wife, Katie, and has three children.
