Caleb Bowman '25 places third at OHSAA State Championship!

From March 7 - 9, St. John's Jesuit wrestlers Max Beck, Logan Morehouse, and Caleb Bowman competed at the OHSAA DI State Championship, held at the Schottenstein Center.

Competing the heavyweight division, senior Caleb Bowman started off with a 6-1 win over Marysville. In the quarterfinals, he pinned Brecksville in the second period. After falling in the semifinals to the eventual state champion, Bowman bounced back with two straight wins. He recorded pins against both Lake East and Lancaster to finish third overall!

Junior Max Beck wrestled in the 132 lb. bracket. In his first match, he lost to the eventual state champion from Massillon Perry by tech fall, 16-0. In the second match, he overcame injury to gut out a 3rd period takedown to win 4-1 over Monroe. On Saturday, his injury limited his movement throughout his third match as he fell to Moeller.

In the 175 lb. division, senior Logan Morehouse lost in a nail biter, 6-5, to Wadsworth. In the second match that could have gone either way, he lost 9-8.

Out of 96 teams represented in D1, SJJ finished 20th with just three competing. All complete DI brackets can be seen here.

Congratulations on a great season, Titans!
