St. John's Jesuit Head Hockey Coach
Matt Butler '09 has stepped down effective immediately.
"As an alumnus of St. John's Jesuit and having spent the last seven years with the program, this team has meant so much to me. It has been an honor to coach and mentor these young men, helping to uphold the values and traditions that make this program special," said Butler. "This choice didn't come easily, but it's one I'm making so I can spend more time focusing on my family. I am incredibly grateful for the support from the administration, my fellow coaches, the players, and their families throughout my time."
Coach Butler led the Titans for two seasons. Prior to taking over as head coach, he served on the JV staff in 2014 before returning as a varsity assistant in 2019.
"I greatly appreciate the hard work, time and effort that Coach Butler dedicated to SJJ hockey," said Director of Athletics
Bob Ronai. "We are thankful for his leadership and setting a great example of what it means to be a
Man for Others and wish Coach Butler and his family all the best."
The position will remain open until it is filled.
